Northern Hospice Feasibility Study

The Client: Department of Health and Human Services Tasmania

An independent review to examine the need for a dedicated hospice in Northern Tasmania.

As part of its pre-election commitments, the Tasmanian Government committed to commissioning an independent feasibility study to examine the need for a dedicated hospice in Northern Tasmania. In late 2015, Grosvenor was engaged by the Tasmanian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS Tas) to conduct this feasibility study.

Through this study, Grosvenor assessed the need for, and feasibility of, a dedicated hospice service in Launceston. This included analysis of the current, unmet and expected future demand for hospice care in Northern Tasmania, including existing hospice and palliative care services and the capacity of these services to meet the community need now and in the future.
